How to Maintain Home Water Quality: 10 Water Tank Tips

1. Clean Your Water Tank at Least Once a Year

2. Keep the Water Tank Lid Tightly Closed

Look at the water in a bucket first. If it is brown, keep flushing until it clears.

This reduces the mud that enters the tank. It does not replace tank cleaning, but it helps.

5. Fit a Coarse Filter at the Water Tank Inlet

A coarse filter traps sand, leaves and large debris before they enter the tank. It is cheap and easy to fit. Without it, every rainstorm washes fresh grit into the tank.
